San Juan County, NM – On 01/20/2011 the San Juan County Special Enforcement Team (SET) arrested two individuals for Aggravated Battery, A Third Degree Felony and other charges relating from a stabbing that occurred on 01/18/2011.

On 01/18/2011 between 2330 and 2345 hours a victim was stabbed in the Crouch Mesa Area. San Juan Regional Medical personnel called dispatch when the victim was brought into their emergency room. Farmington Police and San Juan County Deputies responded. An individual living in the same residence as the victim had wrapped a towel around the injured man and transported him to the emergency room.

Detective Kenneth Weisheit interviewed the individual who transported the victim to the hospital. “The witness said he had gone to the back of the residence where his room was and was on the toilet going to the bathroom when the victim opened the door to his bathroom and the victim was bleeding. The victim told him he needed to go to the hospital and he saw that the victim was bleeding a lot. The witness observed the wounds on the arm. The witness took the victim and placed him in the backseat of his car and drove him to the hospital.”

Detectives then went to the address where the incident took place. They were met there by the witness. The kitchen is located north of the living room and this was where deputies found a concentration of blood. There was a trail of blood that led from the living room to the back of the house where the witness’s bedroom is located.

“I then interviewed the victim,” continued Weisheit. ” I did learn that there were two people who attacked him at the residence while he was there. He said it was two Hispanic males, but that he did not know who they were.”

Upon further investigation deputies were able to identify the individuals involved in the incident. An arrest warrant was issued for Eddie Mares, 28 of Farmington and Gabriel Andrew Sena, 24 of Farmington.
