Date: 07/18/2013

San Juan County, NM On 6/25/2013 San Juan County Sheriff’s Deputies were asked to call a woman in reference to her 12-year-old daughter. “When deputies made contact with the woman, she explained that she had ‘suspicions’ her daughter was having, what she described as, an inappropriate relationship with a distant in-law,” said Detective Lieutenant Cordell Tanner.

San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Detectives began an investigation and learned that 50 year-old Dustin Garrison (of Bloomfield, NM) would communicate with the girl through the internet. He would then make arrangements for her to sneak out of her house to meet with him. “The two would then go to various locations where Garrison would engage in sex acts with the child,” said Tanner.

Garrison, DustinDetectives secured a search warrant for Garrison’s residence and served that warrant on July 16, 2013. Garrison was arrested at that time and booked into the San Juan County Detention Center. He was charged with four counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration in the first degree (a first degree felony).

Garrison is currently being held on a $250,000 cash only bond.
