San Juan County, NMIn mid-January the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team (SET) began an investigation into the distribution of marijuana.  “They were investigating a small group of young adults and teenagers,”  explained  SET Sergeant Scott Facka.  “They were alleged to be distributing moderate amounts of marijuana amongst their peers”.

On Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 the Special Enforcement Team obtained a search warrant for a residence located on Sullivan Avenue in Farmington, NM.  “The warrant was in regards to a seventeen year-old distributing marijuana from the home,” said Facka.  “More than seven ounces of marijuana were seized during the execution of the warrant.”

Since the individual is a juvenile under the age of 18, no name is being released.  The juvenile will be petitioned through the juvenile probation office on the charge of distribution of marijuana.   Additionally, a case will be screened through the District Attorney’s Office for possible charges against the juvenile’s parents for “knowing and permitting the juvenile to possess the drugs”.
