San Juan County, NM – On September 5, 2013,, members of the United States Marshal Service Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team went to Navajo, NM in an attempt to locate Peter Andrew Ernst. The team is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers from the United States Marshals Service, San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and Farmington Police Department.
Ernst was wanted on warrants for Criminal Sexual Penetration and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Both warrants were issued out of San Juan County, NM.
Ernst was located at a residence in the community of Navajo, NM where he was arrested without incident. Ernst was later booked into the San Juan County Detention Center where he awaits his arraignment. He is being held on $1,100,000.00 cash only bond for both warrants.
“This is a perfect example of why we form partnerships with other agencies,” said San Juan County Sheriff Ken Christesen. “As a result of these partnerships, if a suspect flees our county, we are able to go after him/her and bring them back here and place them in jail where they belong.”
